Mike Cannell is always writing stories. Most of these stories are in his mind. Every once in awhile he will write a story down on paper or in his computer. He was born in 1969 and grew up in private Christian schools most of his life. After 3 years in college where he was "undecided" on what career path he would take as an adult, he settled on English & Writing. In his creative writing classes in college, he wrote the Beau the Bear picture books and a middle-grade adventure called "The Chain Gang." After college his life took a turn again and he followed his first love of computers and became a self-taught software engineer. He even held a title of Webmaster for many years and for many companies. He spent two years programming Leap Pad books which were paper books that sat on an electronic device that made the paper books interactive. His favorite one was called "Cake & Mice Cream" and is still available to purchase. In 2007, as a software engineer, he began programming iPhone applications with a concentration on games. He has released over 20 apps on the AppStore. He has worked on many iOS apps ranging from games to fast food and healthcare. For over 25 years Mike has been writing down his story ideas. He is currently working on two middle-grade franchises: Emory French (My Dad's a Spy & So Am I) and Melly & Jelly. He couldn't be more excited to bring these two adventures to the page. Well, having these stories on your bookshelf may be even more exciting to him. He currently lives with his wife in Central Ohio and has two adult daughters and grandchildren.
“Michele! Bears do that!”
—One of Beau’s favorite phrases when he does something wrong.
